The Unknown Soldier

“ Where would I be without ZANE?”

Because of the Zimbabwe government’s gross mismanagement and corruption, Frank’s plight was appalling.

Frank* (83) served the Crown in the Rhodesian services during the Malayan conflict. Frank’s wife, Helen – once a nurse – died of cancer at the age of 78. Frank lost his savings when Zimbabwe was hit with hyper-inflation and he is wholly destitute.

Recently, Frank travelled throughout the night to see if ZANE could help. He was struggling with high blood pressure and breathing difficulties. He was diagnosed with double pneumonia.

ZANE paid for a penicillin injection and painkillers. When Frank read the medical instructions – “This medication must be taken with food” – he was overcome.

He had no money to buy food. Today he lives in ZANE’s care.“I don’t know where I’d be without ZANE,” Frank said recently. “I’m so grateful.”

Frank is a member of the Forgotten Legion. Without your generosity, these veterans would die alone and forgotten. ZANE is their only lifeline.

If you are already a ZANE supporter, thank you.

Every pound you donate goes towards saving a veteran’s life.
