The countdown to the Yarra Valley Old Legs Tour 2025 ride is well on its way with under ten days to go and the various riders having completed their training schedule.
The pic shows the Sunshine Coast Queensland team, John McKenney – “Macca”, Mark Johnson – “Johnno” and Alan Crundall after their last big ride before departing for the drive to Melbourne on 12 November.

The other riders, David Pichanick from Brisbane and, from New Zealand, Howard Thompson and Rob Clark, will be flying in to join the group on 14 November. They are pedalling to raise money and awareness for Zimbabwean pensioners.
Please support them by donating generously below and by following their ride as they pedal through Victoria’s beautiful Yarra Valley.

Yarra Valley Ride
ZANE Australia is very proud indeed to introduce the Old Legs Tour Down Under and in particular the Yarra Valley Old Legs Tour 2025.
ZANE’s association with the Old Legs Tours goes back many years and, in order to cement that partnership, Mark Johnson has joined the ZANE Australia Board. He has recently put together a team of riders who will be touring the Yarra Valley in Victoria from 14th November to 25th November raising money for, and awareness of, the plight of the elderly in Zimbabwe.
ZANE is a relational charity which means that every single person helped by ZANE is known personally to the members of the care teams across Zimbabwe. There is no better way of expressing this than using the words of one of the ZANE carers as she retired:
We know every person on our lists, we know their children’s and grandchildren’s names, we know their pets’ names, their medical conditions, their hopes and fears and the things that they love to talk about. ZANE isn’t just about the money, it’s so much more than that, it’s about the people and the very strong relationships that we build with all of our beneficiaries. For me that has been the beating heart of ZANE since the very first day I started 20 years ago. My phone rings at night and before dawn in the morning, it rings at weekends and on public holidays and when I’m on leave. ZANE is the lifeline for so many people who have lost everything, again and again and again in our broken country.
Set against that are the thank you letters that the team members constantly receive from the beneficiaries themselves:
“Please thank your kind supporters for their generosity. Without ZANE I don’t know how I would survive.“
“Thank you, all the wonderful people in ZANE. I would not have survived if it wasn’t for your kindness and faithful support all these years.“
With love and GOD BLESS YOU!!
By supporting the Old Legs Yarra Valley Ride 2025 you will be reaching out in a completely personal way to take up the cause of walking alongside the old and vulnerable of Zimbabwe who have no other voice. We thank you and ask you to continue with us.

Please donate to support pensioners struggling to survive in Zimbabwe
Any assistance is greatly appreciated and goes a long way to giving our pensioners a better quality of life and lift the pressure of money worries which is very debilitating emotionally.
