ZANE not only offers help to the old forgotten folk of Zimbabwe, but also to the impoverished children who are yet more casualties of the economic breakdown there. Clubfoot is a huge problem in Zimbabwe and, with the health system all but broken, ZANE has come alongside thousands of children who would otherwise be condemned to a life of social isolation and pain.
Blessing’s Story
Blessing’s story is just one of these children:
Blessing*, 2, has clubfoot. She is one of over 10,000 children in Zimbabwe awaiting treatment to enable them to walk and live a life free of disability.

Clubfoot is a congenital deformity where the feet are permanently twisted, making it painful and almost impossible to walk. Children with untreated clubfoot face poor life chances, pain, stigma and, in many cases, abuse and neglect.
Clubfoot can be cured using the Ponseti Method.
This involves:
- Manipulation of the foot followed by plaster casting for 4-6 weeks
- Small incision to the heel tendon
- Further 3 weeks in plaster
- Braces for up to three years
The whole procedure costs just £240. Thousands of children like Blessing urgently await treatment. Please will you make a donation today to help Blessing and other children like her stand on their own two feet?
- If just 12 people donate £20, Blessing’s clubfoot can be treated.
- A regular gift of £20 a month will enable children like Blessing to live a life free of disability.
Please donate today and help to transform the life of a child with clubfoot.
