Medical Difficulties

Eileen

On my recent visit to Eileen she mentioned that her eyes were troubling her and she was struggling to read. Eileen spends a lot of time on her own and really enjoys reading.

Some years ago, she was told she had cataracts, but could not afford to have them removed. She will be visiting Chisipite Eye Care where she will have a full examination and then it will be determined whether Eileen needs surgery to remove cataracts or new spectacles.

William

We visited William at his home. Coral, his wife was unfortunately visiting the doctor when we called. She suffers from Lupus and the day before our visit she had a bad turn.

Although Coral is a very sick lady, she continues to do her best with helping around the home as well as making various pickles for sale. ZANE are presently assisting this couple with a food parcel every month and covering Coral’s monthly medications.

Angus

Angus (75) was referred to us by a donor who attended our Magical Coffee morning. Angus is suffering from a specific cancer, which is a type of tumour in his lung.

This has spread into the shoulder blade and down his right arm, affecting the nerves down to his fingertips. He requires radiation to shrink the tumour, followed by an operation, however, radiation alone will cost $5000.

Angus lives with his sons who are doing their best to support him, but are finding this recent problem difficult to deal with.

I will continue to visit and give him counselling and hopefully ZANE can assist him with his drugs to keep him pain free.
