The reports coming in from ZANE carers in Zimbabwe demonstrate how hugely important the work that ZANE does and the donor support we receive is. We are very grateful for the commitment and support of our dedicated donors.
Rose
Rose Page has had a bad few months with her household electrical appliances all going “on the blink” one after the other. She says the final straw was having a fall and not being able to get herself up off the floor.
Fortunately, she was not hurt, and both the front and back doors were open so, was eventually able to get help from a passer-by. She was so relieved and grateful to get her grant as she had completely run out of money.
Phoenix Choir
The residents of one of the local care homes enjoyed a special supper put on by the home and a singing concert by the Phoenix choir who have been doing the rounds to all the care homes. All the residents I spoke to commented on how nice it was to listen to music from their era bringing back so many wonderful memories of yesteryear.
“I wish I could have got up and danced the night away like we used to at the Jesse Hotel in Colleen Bawn”
“I’ve been humming the tunes of all the songs they sang, it was wonderful” are just a few of many comments I was told.
The Matron has been doing chair exercises 3 times a week and encourages everyone to attend.
Jerry and Marion G
Jerry and Marion G requested assistance with food as he is now no longer employed, and his pension amounts to $47 monthly. He worked and saved hard all his life and invested his money wisely in 3 houses. Twenty years ago, he sold them, bought a cottage at a local retirement complex and invested the balance in the money market.
This was whittled away during the hyperinflation days, and he was forced to continue working. Unfortunately, he is losing his eyesight and is no longer able to drive or work. He and his wife were so thankful for the food box they were given.

Please donate to support pensioners struggling to survive in Zimbabwe
Any assistance is greatly appreciated and goes a long way to giving our pensioners a better quality of life and lift the pressure of money worries which is very debilitating emotionally.
