Toms Walk 2023

With the situation in Zim continuing to decline as hyperinflation hits yet again, Tom Benyon aged 80 (ZANE’s founder) and Jane, his wife, will be undertaking yet another walk to raise money for the elderly folk who depend on ZANE for their very survival.

If you are already a donor, we thank you for your compassion and generosity. If you would like to become a donor we invite you to join the ZANE family and contribute to our life-saving work – every donation, however big or small, is used to the utmost good.

The (First) Last Walk

Why are Jane and I and our dog Moses embarking on a 14th sponsored walk for ZANE?

First Last Walk

We are walking because life for the poor in Zimbabwe is a gruelling fight for survival. Imagine living in a country where inflation is 400% and rising. Imagine living in a country with no social provision: imagine living in a country with no state funded healthcare: imagine being poor, ill and lonely: imagine dying in squalor, facing fear, hunger, and despair.

This could be me: this could be you.

We are walking once again to highlight that ZANE is the only lifeline for the many thousands of needy who have no one else to turn to.

We are walking once again so that ZANE can afford to assist more people.

Our brave ZANE workers say that the thing they dread the most is having to turn desperate people away through lack of resources.

We walk for Marion who is 75 and a diabetic. She worked as a teacher for over forty years. Marion says: “My savings and pension have vanished and I’m too sick and old to start again. I’m so grateful to ZANE and the astonishing generosity of the ZANE donors. Please thank them for me.“

If you donate to ZANE, please know that the money goes to those in desperate need.

ZANE makes the difference between hope and despair and brings smiles to faces and hope for the future. Please sponsor our walk; the need is so great.

Thank you so much.

Yours sincerely

Tom Benyon OBE

Please donate to support pensioners struggling to survive in Zimbabwe

Any assistance is greatly appreciated and goes a long way to giving our pensioners a better quality of life and lift the pressure of money worries which is very debilitating emotionally.
